I chose smaller servings of three different gravies, the Fried Chicken Gravy, the Espresso Red Eye Gravy, and the Gravy of the Day, a Creamy Tomato Bacon Gravy. The reality, though, is that, to me, biscuits mean gravy. I think I could come here again for just biscuits and jam. I slathered on the various butters and jams and was just in heaven. The eggs and bacon were perfectly cooked and the biscuit delicious with the egg yolk. Everything arrived in, basically, a tin pie plate and, with the rustic tables and chairs, it all added to the homey, inviting, and all around biscuity feel of the place. I know that I grabbed a few more, but these were the ones that really stuck in my head and that I would go back for again and again. Little paper cups were stacked up to fill with your favorites so I grabbed a few that looked the most interesting, namely the tarragon marmalade, the green chiles cherry jam, and the Hawaiian Punch butter. Far from the stark brick exterior that marks every building nearby, the interior is vibrant, fun, and just a little quirky. When you walk in, you might just turn back around to make sure that you haven’t transported somewhere. You’ll find tomatoes, peppers, herbs…all used in the preparation of that day’s offerings. Anyway, as you order, someone asks how many is in your party and puts a reserved spot on a table for you. (I can't imagine what the line is like on the weekends!). BEST OF ALL, they help you get a seat! This place was packed the whole time we were there and the line grew longer with each passing minute. There's a jam bar and the blackberry, peach/rosemary and sweet potato/chai were my favorites. I tried the jam and it was good but I didn't get it on my bacon. There are also different bacon varieties of bacon, today's was strawberry pepper, I think. □ There were several varieties of gravy. We had a classic egg/bacon/biscuit with a side of gravy. Look to the left and there it is! There is a tiny sign right on the road but it's hardly noticeable. When it tells you to turn into a colonial style medical complex, do. Huge thank you to her!
